Martin Luther King, Jr.
Favorite MLK quotes:
1. Hate cannot drive out hate.
2. The time is always right to do what is right.
3. Nothing in the world is more dangerous than sincere ignorance and consciencious stupidity.
4. If a man is called to be a street sweeper, he should sweep streets even as Michelangelo painted, or Beethoven composed music, or Shakespeare wrote poetry. He should sweep streets so well that all the hosts of heaven and earth will pause to say, here lived a great street sweeper who did his job well.
5. The whole "I have a dream..." speech.
6. Let no man pull you low enough to hate him.

Routine mamm screening in the morning. No fun, but necessary I'm told. Anyway, it's over, so that's a good thing.
We did the downtown cruise, went shopping at Tom's West Bay, and then my reward - lunch at Bubba's. It was crowded, noisy, yummy and fun - the perfect reward.

Here's one I saw that I loved:
I refuse to accept the idea that the "isness" of man's present nature makes him morally incapable of reaching up for the eternal "oughtness" that forever confronts him.
That was from his acceptance speech for the Nobel Peace Prize, the whole speech is here: http://nobelprize.org/nobel_prizes/peace/laureates/1964/king-acceptance.html
