Spring Cleaning

Hey, it's been a busy week here at Basswood Bend. Glorioski, we have many irons in our fire (figuratively only, thank goodness.)

Dick has power-washed all of the decks and boardwalks, including the front porch - so we're very clean and shiny. There are many projects left to do, however. My honey-dew list is longer than your cockatoo. We still need to clean the porch, and set up the umbrella table and hose off the picnic tables. I love to do that on a hot day. I need to do more weeding in the perennial garden.

Our countertop area has all been measured by friendly Bruce. He recommended that we do the wallpaper before the countertops are installed, so, tomorrow Melissa K. is coming to measure and assess how much wallpaper we'll need. I'll buy the wallpaper on Sunday (because we'll be gone to an Event in Harrison on Saturday), and I'm hoping that she can wallpaper the kitchen sometime next week or the following week.

We're planning to visit Mother tomorrow, and on Sunday after I look at wallpaper, I can visit her again. Dick really doesn't want to shop for wallpaper, can you believe it?

Also next week we're going to Brown Lumber to line up somebody to come and do all of our odd jobs - siding, screen doors, ceiling fan, shutters, and downspout. I think that's it. Stay tuned.

Inside I have finished cleaning out the pantry - what a job. We've made two trips to Goodwill, and we have an impressive pile for the dump. It took 2 and a half days, and I'm very glad that it's done. I have to laugh because in all of the drawers, shelves and pantries that I've been cleaning out, most everything that I'm tossing is dated 2003 and 2004. Last year I kept up with the current stuff, and now I'm cleaning out what's left from the two years that I was sick. It sure feels good to feel good. I have my own honey-dew list also - mostly cleaning out cupboards and putting down new shelf paper.

We have been disappointed in Britten Banners, because so far they have not indicated that they're even working on the S2S T shirts. We have orders from 20 people so far, and no way to know when the T shirts will be ready. We're planning to go talk to Chris next week and if he can't produce, we'll take our mock-up somewhere else. It's quite disappointing to have Dick work so hard on the planning, the series, and the shirt design, and then have everything come to a screeching halt when it's out of our control. People are really looking forward to getting their shirts, and we feel awful that they have to wait.

During our Subaru Cruise today, it looked like the new Pangea's Pizza might be open. I sure hope they do well - they have worked really hard on getting their space remodeled and ready.
