The most exciting thing we did today was talk to Laurie and Dylan about Meet the Teacher last Friday, and the first day of school tomorrow!! I have no idea why they start so early. There will be 7 first grade classrooms at Palm City Elementary, and Dylan's class will be in a portable classroom. The plus side of being in a portable is that the class size will be 19! How marvelous. I taught first grade when we had four classrooms and 30 or more students in each one. I think that Dylan is really lucky. The portable has been inspected and approved by his Mommy. The teacher's name is Mrs. Pittman, and she also passed inspection. They visited last year's teacher, and all of the related arts teachers.
We did take a drive into town today - did our usual circle of Front Street and Grandview Parkway. Visited Mother and brought her blueberry pie, raspberries, and a chocolate milk shake. Dick chatted with the next door neighbor and took out the trash.
